Edom, also identified as Esau, is the one who gave up his inheritance for cold soup. His typology runs through the history of old Israel, and now through the apostate church which shares his fate. The Gog/Magog study breaks out more identifications which link the names and places in Ezekiel 38 with the ancient roots of rebellion from the descendants of Noah.
