Part 1-”From the Dry Bones”“Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.”-Ezekiel 37:9
The Third Day study turns its attention to a segment of prophetic scripture which is both (seemingly) timely, and highly misunderstood: the two chapters of Ezekiel which comprise what is called the “Gog/Magog War”. To gain a perspective on this most cryptic utterance by Ezekiel, we deploy the tools of study which are hallmarks of The Third Day: we scrutinize the CONTEXT of the scripture, examine the players and locations, and break out the study of the key words in the root language.
Today, most understanding of Gog/Magog, in relationship to Biblical prophecy, has been communicated in the framework of dispensationalism via the Scofield Reference Bible notes. The identifications of WHO this Magog is, and the land he occupies are flawed by a false Jewish orientation, and the assumptions that this war is an attack on the nation of Israel by Russia. Be prepared to have your premises challenged!
